PERF-FRAQ System

Applications

The Model PERF-FRAQ™ System is a high-performance, one-trip perforating and frac packing completion system. Part of the Baker Oil Tools CK FRAQ™ Tool Platform, the system is designed to reduce completion time and expense, minimize formation exposure to fluid damage, and enhance well control.

Advantages

  • H-BGA anchors TCP assembly across zone, automatically releasing when guns are fired, so guns fall into sump below perforations
  • Incorporates field-proven Baker Hughes TCP guns and hydraulic firing heads
  • BOSS tool allows for easy disengagement and re-engagement of TCP assembly
  • RS-DG functions as both perforating packer and as sump packer and requires no rotation
  • CK FRAQ tools designed specifically for frac pack applications
  • HP-2 is insensitive to pressure surges to 3,600 psi
  • Frac pack tools are distanced from guns during perforating to eliminate shock damage to frac pack assembly
  • Safety distance required for frac pack tools can be modeled with PulsFrac™ software

Additional Information

The PERF-FRAQ System consists of a Baker Tubing-Conveyed Perforating gun assembly, the Model RS-DG™ Double-Grip Packer, a Baker screen and liner assembly, and the CK FRAQ Tool Assembly with additional closed port hydraulic setting tool.

1997 Hart’s E&P Meritorious Award for Engineering Innovation

Baker Oil Tools received the Hart’s E&P Meritorious Award for Engineering Innovation for the Select Fire system in 1997. The award is given for the world’s best new tools and techniques for finding, drilling, and producing oil and gas wells. Entries are judged on innovation of concept or design; ability to solve an actual oilfield problem; and potential for improving profitability, safety or efficiency.
