Sand control completions require the most advanced fluid technology, services and procedures. Baker Hughes provides Best In Class stimulation fluids and products world-wide to meet these requirements and to assure maximum well productivity.

Baker Hughes Sand Control Systems’ extensive staff of fluid research and technical support personnel is focused on soft formation sandstone completions. They develop specialized chemicals, fluid systems and application processes that meet or exceed the industry and our customer's sand control completion requirements.  These systems include complex crosslinked fluid and surfactant fracturing systems consisting of:

  • Diamond FRAQ™ - A water-based non-ionic “visco-elastic surfactant” (VES) fluid designed for treating oil and dry gas sandstone reservoirs where minimizing formation damage and maximizing proppant and gravel pack gravel retained permeability is of primary importance
  • Diamond FRAQ™ HD - A weighted viscoelastic surfactant (VES) fracturing fluid developed for high pressure oil and gas wells
  • Emerald FRAQ™ - A first-generation “green” frac pack and fracturing fluid that is formulated with a low residue guar polymer, crosslinked with borate ions, specifically designed to provide an oil and grease content of <29 mg/l Hexane Extractable Material (HEM)
  • Ruby FRAQ™ - A high-temperature, high-pH fracturing fluid that uses a low residue derivatized hydroxypropyl guar (HPG) polymer, crosslinked with zirconate ions
