Baker Hughes enhances Answers While Drilling Strategy by Integrating Web-based Real-time Software
HOUSTON – March 4, 2008 – Baker Hughes is pleased to announce that it has entered into a non-exclusive long-term contract with Kongsberg Intellifield AS for the unrestricted use of their SiteCom® and Discovery Wells™ software with Real Time Intelligence® that will enhance Baker Hughes’ Answers While Drilling strategy.
The software modules from Kongsberg Intellifield will be integrated with the existing WellLink services accessible through the BakerHughesDirect portal. This globally integrated environment will feature load-balanced and geographically redundant systems enabling collaboration, support of operations, and real-time decision-making by entitled professionals regardless of their disciplinary or geographic borders.
The service optimizes the web-based delivery of advanced visualization and analysis capabilities for real-time data regardless of the data density acquired. The web-based interface is easy to use and configure, graphically integrating any type of WITSML data from diverse sources such as MWD/LWD, mud logging, wireline, casing, cementing, completion, weather, position, anchor, drilling instrumentation, and drilling equipment.
Automated agents enable more efficient and smarter real-time operational decisions by continuously analyzing real-time and historical data to warn and inform decision teams for events such as pore pressure prediction, torque and drag analysis for drill pipe and casing, optimal casing running speed and circulation rate, and prediction of critical downhole equipment failure.
