 Baker Atlas has introduced FOCUS, the latest in high efficiency premium open hole logging systems. All downhole instruments have been redesigned, incorporating advanced downhole sensor technology into shorter, lighter, more reliable logging instruments that are capable of providing formation evaluation measurements with the same precision and accuracy as the industry's highest quality sensors at up to twice the speed of conventional triple-combo and quad combo logging tool strings. The logging system consists of the four standard major open hole measurements (resistivity, density, neutron, acoustic), plus auxiliary services. The focus system is built for speed in every phase of the logging operation. Redesigned sensors enable higher logging speeds up to twice the speed of conventional tools. Instrument design improves reliability. Compact tools enable faster rig up and rig down. Shorter tools require less rathole, reducing drilling time and costs incurred for prelogging hole preparation. Quick delivery of field prints and digital data. The result higher quality data delivered in less time. The FOCUS system ensures accuracy at high logging speed in two essential ways. First, the FOCUS sensors and mechanical systems are designed for logging at 60 fpm. Second, all FOCUS measurements can be corrected for stick and pull, which has much larger effect on logging measurements at higher logging speeds. The result is data you can count on to produce a clear and accurate picture for making critical completion decisions. FOCUS improves safety with shorter, lighter instrument sections. Shorter, lighter tools are easier and safer for crews to handle, decreasing the potential for accidents and improving the overall safety of wellsite operations. The purpose-built FOCUS trucks include a rear hoist control, which facilitates improved communication and a direct line of sight during rig up. Service Application- Array Resistivity (FOCUS HDIL) - includes real time 1-D radial inversion processing for more accurate measurements of Rxo and Rt.
- Nuclear Porosity (FOCUS ZDL & FOCUS CN) - design changes improved detector response and efficiency at high logging speeds of conventional instruments, and enable production of a real time nuclear porosity cross-plot log.
- Acoustic Slowness (FOCUS DAL) - offers an improved monopole signal resulting in accurate compressional slowness values (Delta t) using a depth derived borehole compensation technique.
- Auxiliary Measurements - Correlation Gamma Ray (GR), Borehole Temperature, Downhole Tension, Mud Resistivity, Accelerometer (TTRmA), Two Arm Caliper (TAC).
