FORMATION EVALUATION: NUCLEAR

  • Z-Densilog (ZDL)
The Compensated Z-Densilog service provides both formation bulk density and the photoelectric absorption index (Pe) data. These measurements allow evaluation of complex formations determining lithology and porosity in such formations. Because the photoelectric absorption of gamma rays depends strongly on atomic number, the measured values of Pe are directly related to the formation?s composition. The Pe measurement is not significantly dependent on porosity or fluid content, making it particularly useful in determining formation lithology.
  • Compact Dual Spectrum Densilog (CDSD) (ZDL_D)
The Compact Dual Spectrum Densilog service provides both formation bulk density and the photoelectric absorption index (Pe) data.
  • FOCUS Z-Densilog (FOCUS ZDL)
Baker Atlas has introduced FOCUS, the latest in high efficiency premium open hole logging systems. All downhole instruments have been redesigned, incorporating advanced downhole sensor technology into shorter, lighter, more reliable logging instruments that are capable of providing formation evaluation measurements with the same precision and accuracy as the industry's highest quality sensors at up to twice the speed of conventional triple-combo and quad combo logging tool strings. The logging system consists of the four standard major open hole measurements (resistivity, density, neutron, acoustic), plus auxiliary services.
  • Compensated Neutron (CN)
Neutron logs are primarily used for identification of porous formations and for the estimation of porosity. Often, it is possible to distinguish gas zones from oil or water zones by the comparison of a neutron log with another porosity log or with information from core analysis. Combination of the Neutron log with Z-Density (or Densilog) or Acoustilog survey provides accurate porosity values, shale content, and lithological information.
  • FOCUS Compensated Neutron (FOCUS CN)
FOCUS, from Baker Atlas, is the latest in high efficiency premium open hole logging systems. All of the downhole instruments have been redesigned, incorporating advanced downhole sensor technology, into shorter, lighter, more reliable logging instruments, capable of providing formation evaluation measurements with the same precision and accuracy as the industrys highest quality sensors, at much higher logging speeds. Logging speeds are up to twice the speed of conventional triple-combo and quad combo logging tool strings. The logging system consists of the four standard major open hole measurements (resistivity, density, neutron, acoustic) plus auxiliary services.
  • Neutron (NEU)
Uncompensated Neutron logs are primarily used Correlation where gamma ray instruments do not provide sufficient character to provide correlation confidence.
  • Perforating GammaRay/Neutron (PGRN)
The Perforating Gamma Ray - Neutron (PGRN) service provides depth correlation using a Gamma Ray and/or Neutron log for accurate placement of the perforating gun. The PGRN service is valuable when the Casing Collar Log (CCL) is not available or inaccurate or a cased-hole log is not available.
  • Perforating Correlation Neutron (PFN)
The Perforating Correlation Neutron Log insures accurate placement of perforating services in relation to the formation when a casing collar locator or PFC gamma ray device will not provide sufficient contrast or correlation features.
  • Gamma Ray (GR)
The Gamma Ray logging instrument measures the natural radioactivity of the formation and usually correlates with the SP Curve. The instrument has analog and digitial varieties providing combination with all instrument combinations, including downhole seismic applications. The Gamma Ray instrument can be run in any liquid or air filled hole, either cased or uncased. In cased hole, a Casing Collar Log (CCL) can also be recorded simultaneously.
  • FOCUS Gamma Ray (FOCUS GR)
Baker Atlas has introduced FOCUS, the latest in high efficiency premium open hole logging systems. All downhole instruments have been redesigned, incorporating advanced downhole sensor technology into shorter, lighter, more reliable logging instruments that are capable of providing formation evaluation measurements with the same precision and accuracy as the industry's highest quality sensors at up to twice the speed of conventional triple-combo and quad combo logging tool strings. The logging system consists of the four standard major open hole measurements (resistivity, density, neutron, acoustic), plus auxiliary services.
  • Spectralog (SL)
The Digital Spectralog® (and combined Digital Gamma Ray) service differs from a standard gamma ray instrument - which records total gamma rays as a function of depth - in that it also measures the discrete energy of each gamma ray detected. By separating the total gamma ray signal into its components, the Digital Spectralog can assist customers in locating fracture zones, identifying the lithology of subsurface formations, measuring bed thickness, correlating zones of interest between wells, and making qualitative estimates of formation permeability. The discrimination of the total gamma ray signal into discrete energy levels or windows infers the individual amounts of potassium (K), uranium (U), and thorium (Th). Virtually all of the gamma radiation detected by downhole instruments can be classified in one of three categories. As a result, certain lithology ambiguities can be resolved which often exist when using only total gamma ray signal.
  • Perforating Correlation (PFC)
The PFC Log ensures accurate placement of the perforations in relation to the formation and also records a log of the perforation locations. Providing a Gamma Ray Log, a Casing Collar Locator, and a perforation location log, the 3 5 /8 in. (92.1 mm) OD subsurface instrument may be attached to and run with a perforating gun or the Sidewall Corgun. The Gamma Ray and Casing Collar Locator are run simultaneously.
  • PFC Gamma Ray, 3 1/2 High Resolution (PFC-F)
The PFC Log ensures accurate placement of the perforations in relation to the formation and also records a log of the perforation locations. Providing a Gamma Ray Log, a Casing Collar Locator, and a perforation location log, the 3 5 /8 in. (92.1 mm) OD subsurface instrument may be attached to and run with a perforating gun or the Sidewall Corgun. The Gamma Ray and Casing Collar Locator are run simultaneously.
  • PFC Gamma Ray, 3 3/8" - Standard (PFC-A)
The PFC Log ensures accurate placement of the perforations in relation to the formation and also records a log of the perforation locations.
