Baker Atlas always places a high priority on HS&E and doing the job right the first time. This is strengthened through a continuous, company-wide initiative that covers Health, Safety & Environmental Protection. 

Baker Atlas is committed to the health and safety of our employees, operating communities and locations and the environment. Our comprehensive HS&E policy focuses on prevention, accountability, communication and incident control while promoting a safe, healthy and productive work environment. 

Comprehensive training programs educate field crews about safety procedures and the handling of hazardous materials. The Baker Atlas corporate culture promotes respect for the environment in every part of the world and makes every effort to minimize disturbance to plant and animal life. We strive to decrease the use of chemicals harmful to the environment. Extensive recycling has been instituted at Baker Atlas operations facilities and manufacturing operations.

Baker Atlas operates to a quality-based Health, Safety and Environment Management System designed to involve all levels of management in the HSE Process. This HSE management system provides for the involvement of all Baker Hughes employees in the process of preventing illnesses and injuries and of protecting the environment and continuous improvement of HSE processes.

The global Health, Safety and Environmental Management System applies to all employees worldwide and provides guidance on minimum HS&E requirements. The system consists of four phases: Plan, Deploy, Review and Improve. Each phase contains various elements; for example, the Plan phase includes: Risks and Impacts; Legal, Business and Client Requirments; Goals and Plans; and Management of Change. There are a total of 15 Elements which form the backbone of the management system, supported by 54 Operational Control procedures and additional resources such as forms, handbooks and other materials.

HS&E Objectives
The objectives of the Baker Atlas Health, Safety and Environment processes are to:
