Overview Baker Hughes Drilling Fluids introduces the TANK SHARKSM robotic tank cleaning system - a revolutionary system that greatly reduces man hours in the tank, and is instead operated remotely from a control cabin. The unit is capable of cleaning two tanks simultaneously and can be maneuvered to target all parts of the tank eliminating the blind spots that conventional methods and other automated systems so often leave behind. And all of this can be done in less than half the time of other conventional tank systems. Unlike other automated systems, TANK SHARK is remotely controlled by a technician from the deck of the boat or rig floor. The result is a process where water, equipment and pressure are used where they are really needed inside the tank, thus reducing the volume of waste and the time to finish the job. This system provides a rapid and safe turnaround of workboats and rig tanks, and is especially valuable where large quantities of solids have deposited in the tanks. TANK SHARK provides an enormous advantage over conventional cleaning methods, especially where high density oil- or water-based fluids have been used and where large quantities of solids have deposited in the tanks. The unit conforms to any size of tank and can handle water pressures of over 200 psi with a fluid output of over 200gals/min. High pressure and flow rate are necessary to move high density, packed solids from the bottom of tanks resulting in quicker, effective cleaning with less overall waste produced. |
