The VertiTrak® System
The VertiTrak System from INTEQ is an automated vertical drilling
system that combines a powerful downhole motor, inclination sensors
and hydraulically-operated steering pads to maintain a vertical
wellpath. The VertiTrak system has been applied in the Gulf of Mexico
for straight hole drilling applications through salt layers which
are difficult to drill by conventional methods. On one well, the
VertiTrak system kept the well within 1° of vertical for 11,000
ft.
