Extreme Production Conditions

Certain production environments can be more difficult to manage than others. Baker Hughes understands the challenges faced in addressing extreme production conditions in a safe and economical manner. We've developed products and services specifically designed to provide asset integrity and flow assurance under the most harsh operating conditions. Extreme Conditions - HT/HP

As well depth increases so do, generally, operating temperatures and pressures. These extreme conditions require the use of specialized production chemicals that can maintain their high level of performance over a very broad range of environmental conditions. Nowhere is this more true than in deepwater environments where full continuous production is critical to the economic viability of the project.

Baker Hughes offers products intended for use under extreme conditions that remain stable and functionally effective for their intended purpose. Since elevated temperatures and pressures can increase the likelihood of chemical and materials incompatibility problems, we test our products for stability, compatibility, and performance in your system. This includes certifying the products for capillary and umbilical injection.

Extreme Conditions - High CO2 and/or H2S Levels

Many fields produce high levels of carbon dioxide and hydrogen sulfide. Regardless of the source, these acid gases pose a real threat to asset integrity and personnel and environmental safety. When acid gas levels are high, specialized chemical products are needed to ensure continued efficient operations and to minimize HSE risk to operators and the communities nearby.

Extreme Conditions - High Velocity/Erosive Conditions

When fluid velocities exceed a certain threshold in oil and gas production systems, particularly at bends and tees in the lines, corrosion can be accelerated due to mass-transfer and erosional processes. Under these high shear circumstances, conventional inhibitors are often only marginally effective at mitigating the severe impacts of this highly aggressive, often very localized erosive/corrosive attack.
