Flow Assurance Products & Services

A flow assurance study is a critical component in the design stages of any oil production system particularly in high risk deepwater projects, such as in the Gulf of Mexico or off the West Coast of Africa.

Predicting hydrate formation or wax, asphaltene, or scale deposition within the production tubing, flow lines, or export lines is essential in optimizing flow. Ensuring materials compatibility with the produced fluids and the selection of an effective mitigation program must also be considered to assure flow in deepwater lines. A flow assurance study not only helps ensure uninterrupted production, but also verifies that chemical injection systems will operate correctly.

Baker Hughes can aid in system design by modeling phase behavior of the pipeline fluids, assist in materials selection and determine necessary pump capacities and line diameters.

Additionally, to support sub-sea and deepwater projects, Baker Hughes manufactures and supplies a wide range of products specifically designed for the conditions experienced in the harshest environments in the world. Baker Hughes sub-sea products are capillary approved and exhibit:

  • Low viscosities and pour points
  • Good compatibilities with metals and elastomers
  • Proven stability under high and low temperature conditions
  • Resistance to shear degradation

Our sub-sea product range includes multi-functional products in addition to high quality scale, corrosion, wax and hydrate inhibitors.
