Sand and Solids Control
Baker Hughes sand and solids suspension programs, supported by the technology
and expertise of a global leader in the specialty chemical industry, are designed
to minimize costs while maximizing well performance.
Specifically designed for use in wells that produce large quantities of sand
and experience frequent solids fouling of bottom hole pumps, Baker Hughes
sand control products work by suspending particles of sand in the oil phase,
allowing them to be carried from the well, and dropping them quickly at the
separator.
Every treatment program begins with an evaluation of well and production
data and continues through selection of the optimum application method and treatment
rate to monitoring of treatment success. It is effective with sand concentrations
from 1% to 35% and water cuts of 15% to 70% and is especially effective in heavy
crudes.
A successful sand suspension program can lower maintenance and operating
costs by reducing workover frequency, lengthening the time between flush-bys
and well loading, lowering torque load on top-drive pump motors and increasing
production efficiency.
