Systems Modeling

At Baker Hughes, we provide complete and comprehensive services to help define your chemical programs and optimize your production and profits. As part of the service you've come to trust from Baker Hughes, we provide modeling services to help understand potential problems, identify problem locations, select optimal products and services, and optimize product performance in your unique systems. Our engineering analysis and modeling capabilities enable us to design and apply chemical treatment programs to help maximize your production. We use industry-recognized commercial software and in-house applications powered by our technical specialists for modeling:

  • Gas well deliquification
  • Hydrate potential
  • Paraffin deposition and pipeline restartability
  • Corrosion
  • Scale formation

Gas Well Liquid Loading Modeling and Unloading Solutions: Baker Hughes F.O.A.M. Technology well-modeling software removes the guesswork about gas-well loading. Our F.O.A.M. modeling software is used to predict when and where liquid loading will occur in your gas wells. It can help select the right product and application to save valuable time and money because the best possible information is obtained the first time. This helps increase your revenue by increasing production.

Hydrate Assessment and Control: We use gas hydrate modeling software to generate hydrate stability curves for a given fluids composition by using the temperature and pressures expected in your system. Based on this, the conditions at which hydrates become stable are predicted in order to help choose the hydrate mitigation strategy that makes the most sense for you.

Paraffin Deposition Modeling and Prevention: Baker Hughes can model your production system to predict paraffin wax deposition. Modeling for wellbore, flowline and pipeline systems can be conducted. We can predict potential wax problems for your system so that gelling and deposition can be preemptively controlled in order to reduce system pressure drop, minimize remediation costs due to hot oiling and pigging, reduce system upsets, and increase production. This can also be applied for pipeline restartability assessments to predict, and define treatment protocols for the prevention of, adverse rheology changes due to wax and paraffins when crude oil pipelines are shut in for extended periods.

Corrosion Prediction and Prevention: As part of a full asset integrity review, Baker Hughes can make corrosion rate predictions of the potential impact and severity of internal corrosion within your systems. We utilize a number of software prediction models and correlate this with our extensive laboratory and field experience. You gain confidence that the specific root causes of problems are identified, and timely and accurate corrective measures can be implemented.

Scale Modeling and Control: Baker Hughes uses its experienced scientists and field engineers and a number of industry leading in-house and state-of-the art commercial scale prediction software systems to assess the scaling tendencies and potential remedies for a particular system. We can accurately predict the likelihood of scaling in your system to help manage the lifetime reservoir costs associated with current and future scaling scenarios. By minimizing the risk of scale from restricting flow or blocking process equipment, we can help you maximize your production and profits.

Modeling is a cost-effective means to understand problems, save time in the field, and help you choose the options that are right for you.
