Upstream
Iron Sulfide Dispersants
The production of sour systems often results in dealing with iron sulfide (FeS) scales. The deposition of iron sulfides can lead to a range of integrity and flow assurance problems. This can include flow blockages, under-deposit corrosion, and emulsion pads in separators.
Unlike many other mineral scales, iron sulfide prevention is not generally amenable to conventional scale inhibitor treatments. For this reason, Baker
Hughes has developed a new option for the prevention of iron sulfide scale problems that deviates from standard, mostly ineffective methods of FeS inhibition. Our products prevent FeS from depositing, and at the same time do not cause or encourage complex emulsion problems in downstream equipment. Our non-acid treatments are non-corrosive so system integrity is never compromised.
Iron sulfide dispersants from Baker Hughes ensure that the FeS will be maintained safely in the water phase, and let you stay in control of your production operations.
Our unique iron sulfide treatment facilitates the transport of FeS scale with the produced water but prevents the FeS from forming pads at water-oil interfaces.
