FLO™ Pipeline Boosters
Crude Oil Pipelines
The use of the FLO™ pipeline
boosters in the Trans-Alaska Pipeline System (TAPS) in the late ‘70s
marked the first commercial application of drag reducing additives (DRA)
in a crude oil pipeline. Baker Hughes, known then as ARCO
Chemical, developed the FLO pipeline drag reducers (PDR) and
successfully treated the Alaskan pipeline, and have been
successfully treating crude oil pipelines around the world ever
since.
Increase throughput and increase your profits
Frictional pressure loss, or drag, in a pipeline system is a
waste of energy and it costs you money. The FLO drag reducing
additive minimizes flow turbulence, increases throughput and reduces
your energy costs. Flow can be increased by as much as 80% with
existing assets, which improves your return on investment (ROI)
significantly.
The results are immediate
Whether your need is offshore or on land, the FLO pipeline booster
together with a Maxi-FLO™
injection module can be implemented and fully operational
within weeks, and in some cases, days. You can immediately
capitalize on opportunities when they arise and avoid lengthy
construction projects.
Technical and Operational Support
Our team of experienced engineers and
support personnel will assure your application is well designed and
meets your needs. From the initial stages of modeling, to field
validation, to daily operations, the Baker Hughes team can assist
you in achieving your goals.
