FLO™ Pipeline Boosters
Refined Products Pipelines
Subsequent to comprehensive quality assurance
studies conducted in the mid 1980's, FLO™ pipeline
boosters gained industry-wide acceptance to treat refined fuels
pipelines. Drag reducers (DRA) quickly found their niche increasing
gasoline flows, transporting slower diesels and heating oils, while
creating more space for jet fuel movement. The FLO XS™
and FLO MX™ drag reducers are currently treating more than 70%
of the finished fuel pipelines in the US. FLO XS and FLO MX drag
reducers are hydrocarbon-based products and contain no metal salts,
no water, no amines, and no surfactants. Additionally,
they meet the US EPA ultra-low sulfur diesel (ULSD) regulations.
FLO pipeline booster is used with confidence
After nearly 20 years of trouble-free use in finished fuels, Baker
Hughes' drag reducers have been substantially improving
pipeline's return on investment (ROI). The FLO drag reducers
designed for refined fuels are registered with the EPA as
fuel additives. Through years of use, there has never been any
negative effect on downstream operations or negative effects on
engine performance. These empirical results further substantiate the
extensive and on-going quality assurance testing.
A Big Punch
The FLO XS and FLO MX drag reducers have
been shown to be capable of achieving over 80% drag reduction
and nearly 100% flow increase. Because of this, prorated
pipelines can be fully utilized by de-bottlenecking with FLO
pipeline boosters. Significant increases in pipeline flow rates have
been achieved while still maintaining solids levels at or below
mandated levels.
