Description

Centrilift PCP systems are complete surface and downhole systems featuring LIFTEQ® pumps. The rod driven progressing cavity pump (RDPCP™) system and the electric submersible progressing cavity pump (ESPCP™) system offer operators a choice of application specific designs to deliver the ultimate PCP value.

The Centrilift RDPCP system includes drivehead equipment options to suit a wide variety of applications with drive requirements from 30 to 300 horsepower. The rugged durability of the driveheads makes them applicable in severe environments, including cold weather and desert conditions. Special coatings are available for long lasting service in offshore applications as well. The design concept incorporated into all Centrilift driveheads internalizes as much of the vital components as possible to reduce the possibility of damage during installation or maintenance operations and protect the drivehead from external environmental conditions that can prematurely age exposed equipment. RDPCP systems are applicable in conventional oil and gas applications, waterflood source wells and coalbed methane regional dewatering operations.

The Centrilift ESPCP system includes a bottom drive system that is an evolution of Centrilift’s best-in-class ESP system. A gear reducer (GRU) is incorporated into the system to reduce the downhole motor speed for PCP operation. The motor used to drive the GRU is the same time-proven Centrilift motor in traditional ESP configurations. An ESPCP system is beneficial when deployed in well conditions efficiently produced using PCP, but are better served without the use of a sucker rod string. These systems are routinely used in horizontal wells where minimal bottomhole pressures are required for optimized production. With the ESPCP configuration, the pump is set in or through deviated areas of the wellbore where rod and tubing wear with rod driven systems is a concern. Additionally, in very viscous applications the elimination of a sucker rod string accommodates a larger flow area in the production tubing string, lowering flow losses and increasing system efficiencies.

Centrilift's progressing cavity pump line is used in both the RDPCP and ESPCP systems and offer an option where operations demand reliability, repeatable efficiency and an attractive total cost of ownership. The PCP line is comprised of a series of pump models that vary in volume and pressure capabilities in order to make the most of the productive wells. A selection of elastomers provides additional versatility of application.

Coalbed Methane
PCP systems have been used extensively in coalbed methane well de-watering operations since the mid 1980s. PCP systems are particularly suited for applications where abrasives such as formation sands, sands used in well fracture operations and coal fines are produced with the formation fluids. In addition, Centrilift has developed the LIFTEQ LT2000 elastomer that performs exceptionally well in water/methane applications. The LIFTEQ LT2000 elastomer has proven to be resistant to the swell normally induced by water, thus allowing for a highly efficient pump design. By reducing abrasive wear and water swell, PCP systems provide a continuous and stable production rate sized to formation requirements.
