Series Overview - 538P

Description

The Centrilift 538 series pumps belong to the recently introduced Centurion™ pump line which has revolutionized the submersible pump market. Centurion pumps can generate more head than any existing stage in the industry. The 538 series also includes the celebrated MVP pumps that offer the most advanced gas handling capabilities in the ESP industry.

Higher head per stage allows shorter pumps to produce the same amount of fluid for a given application. More head per stage also can result in fewer requirements for tandem pumps. Fewer tandem connections mean faster installation time and fewer parts, saving time and money and extending runlife. In addition to more head per stage, Centurion has larger vane openings in both the impeller and diffuser. As a result, Centurion stages are less likely to plug when pumping fluids with a high sand content and fluids that deposit scale or paraffins.

The outside diameter (OD) of the 538 series pump housing is 5.38 inches. These pumps are usually driven by the 562 series motor; however, when larger casings are present the 538 can be used with other Centrilift motors including the 725 series. 538 series pump stages use a 7/8 inch shaft while larger stages have an option for a 1 3/16 inch shaft for a maximum load of 1250 hp at 60 Hz.

The 538 Centurion line of pumps includes mixed and radial flow stage options along with abrasion resistant (AR) designs such as stabilized normal duty (SND), stabilized heavy duty (SHD), stabilized severe duty (SSD) and stabilized extreme duty (SXD). These optional configurations allow operators to select the level of severe service protection best suited to their applications.

Features and Benefits

  • Higher lift per stage results in shorter pumps and fewer pump to pump connections
  • Higher pumping efficiencies result in more favorable production economics
  • Buttress threads and dual O-ring seals provide a 5,627 psi burst pressure
  • Captured bearing in the intake and top bearing, Ni-resist standard, tungsten carbide optional
  • State-of-the-art materials mitigate the destructive effects of harsh environments and result in the highest AR configurations in the industry
  • 538 is capable of handling various levels of aggressive solids, ranging from mild to very severe
  • Each 538 series pump is subjected to a rigorous quality procedure before assembly and is then tested to document performance
