Improve drilling economics
In an East Texas interval of hard and abrasive sands, a 7 7/8" HC506ZX drilled 36% faster, shaving 183 hours off the offset wells’ average drilling time in the same section. In a steeply dipping, overthrusted and overturned limestones and sandstones in Oklahoma, 8 3/4" HC506ZX reduced the interval’s drilling days by 50% and reduced the cost-per-foot by 58% compared with the offset wells’ respective averages. In an interbedded sandstone and shale in Garfield, Colorado, a 7 7/8" HC504ZX drilled 2,522 ft of tough, interbedded formation in 62.5 hr. That was 60% faster than the competitor offset average. Section cost reduced 52%, saving the operator $24,500.
