High-speed, high-temperature applications
MXL long-life motor bits deliver substantial increases in seal and bearing reliability. The next-generation single-energizer metal-seal bearing package (SEM II) is like no other, setting a new standard in extreme drilling environments. All relative rotary motion occurs between two lubricated metal-seal surfaces, extending performance and tolerances.

Cutting structure
Optimized carbide grades. Reengineered tooth shapes. Strategically placed cone savers. These advances create a line of bits with a broad range of available design configurations: customizable for greater durability and higher ROP in a wide variety of applications and substrates.

Performance
In the Gulf of Mexico, 88% of the 8 1/2 in. MXL bits have recorded 600,000 bit revolutions without a seal failure compared with only 25% of competitors′ bits. In Mexico, 97% of our 17 1/2 in. MXL bits have reached 800,000 bit revolutions without seal failure while only 50-75% of competitors′ bits can make this claim. In the Gulf of Suez, 12 1/4 in. MXL bits have been pulled seal-effective after 1 million revolutions 90% of the time.
